Given the full name of the series, it is perhaps unsurprising to learn that the protagonist Yumeko Jabami gambles for the thrill rather than either the status or the wealth that some of her fellow students are interested in. In other words, she would be the compulsive gambler in the full title, though she takes it much further than most.

8. The Protagonist Has a Snake Motif

Furthermore, the 'Ja' in Jabami can be read as 'snake.' Finally, she is even sometimes drawn with the sideways pupils seen on some snakes when she gets excited by gambling.

9. The Protagonist Has a Hime Cut

The protagonist has a hime cut, which can be summed up as a frontal fringe, long, straight sidelocks that tend to reach the cheeks, and long, straight hair in the back. 10. The Protagonist Can Be Rather Deceptive

With that said, the hime cut is rather deceptive as well. Gambling Anime

First off let me say this, if you thought this is a manga about 'gambling and boobs' then you're either idiots/judging only by the cover/too-cheap-to-bought-manga-and-read-online (1 chapter fag), well just pick one.
As for the point above, i've bought and read up to vol 3 from Yen Press and EVEN UP TO THIS POINT THERE'S NO EVEN EFFING SINGLE CLEAVAGE SHOWN IN HERE, so please for the love of xxx tell me how could you refer this as 'gambling and boobs'!? I'm not a review type person and often lurk here just for summary and reference but i can't overlook this single idiotic comment.
First off, i'm a fan of psychological battle (i.e. Death Note or like Kaiji in this matter) and i've found Kakegurui really offer fresh theme to that, i mean a High School that use gambling (real money) and the losers getting abused like pet animal, how sick is that. As opposed to the 'gambling and boobs' comment, if you looking for a the good the bad and the ugly side of human being, then you're come to the right place, i really LOVE how the artist portrayed the characters face/expression in here. The art is great and lovely, but at the same time could get ugly real face as they shown their true color. The psychological battle or the gambling part is awesome and fun too, i could say its up par to Kaiji in terms of getting you on the edge of your seat.
Don't get the protagonist wrong tho, the main is not the male but rather the female. Even though he's shown at the begging, the male is more like commentator from the normal view or 'common people view', well mainly because the other students (the good one in gambling) is mostly insane (in a fun way.. for me)
well like i said, if you want a good psychological, gambling, and awesome art/expression, you'll love Kakegurui!
